The Currant Shed

The Currant Shed has stood tall for over 100 years in McLaren Vale. Built initially in 1916 to serve as a drying house for local currants, today The Currant Shed is a stylish, lunch-only restaurant, who supports over 50 local growers with a focus on a ‘garden to plate’ philosophy. The Currant Shed is home to passionate, like-minded, tourism professionals whose daily reward is the satisfaction that comes from making their guests’ visit unforgettable. Head Chef, Wayne Leeson, holds an overarching belief that: “Good food complements good service, and good service complements good food – everyone that we have the privilege of sharing our offering with is a VIP. If we raise the standard for one, we raise it for all, and every dish we put out should represent the passion garnered from each step of the process, from beginning to end.”
