Charlie’s of Darwin was built around the idea of having a locally produced gin that uses almost uniquely Territory ingredients. A place to enjoy a cocktail in the comfort of the chesterfield lounge, or sit at the bar and talk about what is the next tipple to enjoy. Alternatively, sit above the street and look out over the beautiful Raintree Park.
Sustainability for us simply means “hope for the future”. In order to pursue our goal, we try our best to be as environmentally friendly as possible by reducing energy and water and also generate products from the locals as much as possible rather than ship it from long distances, and from here is where Australian Marine Conservation Society and GoodFish play a big role.
We are proud to be able to work with GoodFish, especially here in Darwin where we are located close to the southeast Asia countries. Sometimes it is a little bit confusing to choose the right seafood to use and to understand whether or not the seafood that we are using is sustainable. In order to support us in this sustainable journey, they provided us with knowledge about our marine sustainability. By working with them, we are ensuring that we only use the best sustainable seafood that are available in Australia and it kind of educates us to the next level in terms of awareness of our sea and marine commodities.
